Our Vocational Skillings project is dedicated to empowering youth and vulnerable populations in Jinja and the wider Eastern Region of Uganda with practical, market-driven skills that lead to sustainable livelihoods. We believe that investing in vocational training is key to fostering economic independence, reducing poverty, and promoting self-reliance within our communities.

Through this initiative, we offer a range of comprehensive training programs designed to meet the current demands of the local job market. Our current vocational offerings include:

Tailoring and Fashion Design: Equipping participants with the skills to create garments, run their own tailoring businesses, or work in the textile industry. This includes training in pattern making, garment construction, and business management.
Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy: Providing hands-on training in various hair styling techniques, skincare, and nail care, enabling participants to establish their own salons or work in existing beauty enterprises.
Carpentry and Joinery: Teaching fundamental woodworking skills, from furniture making to general construction, preparing individuals for employment in the building industry or for self-employment.
Catering and Hospitality: Developing skills in food preparation, culinary arts, and service delivery, opening doors to employment in restaurants, hotels, or for starting small catering businesses.
Our programs emphasize practical, hands-on learning, taught by experienced instructors. We also incorporate essential business and financial literacy components to help graduates manage their earnings and potentially start their own ventures. We strive to connect our graduates with employment opportunities through partnerships with local businesses and offer mentorship to those venturing into self-employment.

The Vocational Skillings project has already transformed the lives of many young people, equipping them with the tools to secure stable employment and improve their living standards. We are continuously researching local market needs to introduce new relevant courses and expand the reach of this vital program.
